Procurement Specialist
The Procurement Specialist will play a key support role within the supply chain team, providing assistance in purchasing, planning, forecasting, analysis, and warehouse operations. This position is designed to be cross-functional, with the flexibility to step in and temporarily assume responsibilities in any of these areas as needed to ensure continuity and smooth operations.
Requirements of the Procurement Specialist
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally with exposure to material planning, production scheduling, and distribution
- Solid mathematical skills, including the ability to perform algebraic calculations
- Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Made to Manage is a plus, but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist
- Analyze production schedules and extract ERP data to maintain appropriate inventory levels and support order fulfillment, considering lead times, safety stock, and lot sizes
- Generate routine reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory status, aging stock, and obsolete materials
- Monitor customer demand forecasts and communicate potential variances or supply concerns to cross-functional teams such as planning, sales, and customer service
- Oversee procurement of goods and services, including issuing purchase orders, negotiating pricing or stocking agreements, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Track, adjust, and maintain purchase orders for assigned suppliers or vendors
- Establish and monitor monthly/quarterly inventory goals to align with cost, unit volume, and inventory turn objectives
- Conduct cycle counts of MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) materials to verify system accuracy
- Partner with production teams to execute and reconcile regular cycle counts of raw ingredients or materials
Full-Time, DIRECT HIRE
Pay is $75,000 - $80,000 a year, based on experience
