Buyer
The Buyer is responsible for managing purchasing activities, sourcing materials, developing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely procurement of products and services to support manufacturing operations. This role works closely with internal departments and external suppliers to maintain cost efficiency, quality standards, and delivery schedules while supporting company goals.
Requirements of the Buyer
- 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment required.
- Proven experience with sourcing, supplier management, negotiations, and purchase order processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with a high level of accountability.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate options and make sound business decisions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP systems required; Syteline experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- CPIM, CPM, or CSCP certification preferred but not required.
Responsibilities of the Buyer
- Manage daily purchasing activities to ensure materials, products, and services are available to meet production requirements.
- Source new suppliers and maintain relationships with existing vendors to support company objectives.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, inventory, and other departments to support purchasing needs.
- Review purchase orders, supplier information, and procurement data for accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements within the purchasing function.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within the ERP system.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to department and company goals.
1st shift, DIRECT HIRE
Pay is $70,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience
