Design & Product Engineer (Software)

Position Summary

We are seeking a diligent and technically skilled QA Engineer to collaborate with development and product teams in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality software. The ideal candidate will design and execute both manual and automated tests, track defects, and help improve QA processes throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Ideally looking for candidates located in the Midwest, CST/EST time zone areas.
• We cannot support C2C arrangement, selected candidate must work on our payroll/W2.
  
  

Job Responsibilities

• Review requirements, technical specifications, and design documents; provide timely, meaningful feedback
• Develop detailed and well‑structured test plans and test cases (manual and automated)
• Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities across features and releases
• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open source tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Katalon)
• Identify, document, and track defects; validate fixes and conduct regression testing
• Liaise with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and assess quality risks
• Monitor QA metrics (e.g. defect densities, open defect counts) and contribute to process improvements
• Stay current with new testing tools, trends, and QA best practices
  
  

Qualifications / Requirements

• Experience: Proven work experience in software quality
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Technical:
• Proficiency with testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Postman/Swagger, JMeter, Appium
• Strong scripting or programming skills in languages like Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Solid understanding of both white‑box and black‑box testing methodologies
• Familiarity with SQL/databases, API testing, performance and security testing basics
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and Azure CI/CD environments
• Methodology: Strong knowledge of QA processes, software testing lifecycle (STLC), defect tracking workflows
• Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving mindset, effective written and verbal communication, collaboration skills, curiosity and critical thinking—attributes identified as traits of strong QA engineers
• Preferred / Nice–to–Have:
• Certifications such as ISTQB, CSQA, CSTE
• Experience with test management tools (e.g. Jira, Zephyr, QTest)
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner)
• Experience with security testing tools, mobile testing frameworks
• Experience in building or maintaining automation frameworks with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
