What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Sales Representative position at Matter Contract?
Matter Contract is a team of manufacturers’ representatives to the A&D and commercial furniture dealer community, with a focus on furniture, textiles, lighting and acoustics for the contract furnishing markets (Workplace, Hospitality, Multi-Family, Education, Healthcare).
We are looking for a high-energy, connected sales rep to cover Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and British Columbia. This position is based in the Portland metro area with travel to Idaho (2-3x per year), Alaska (2-3x per year), British Columbia (3-4x per year) and within Oregon as needed (Bend, Eugene, Salem, etc.) presenting product, delivering samples, updating libraries, and meeting with designers, dealers and end users. Some overnight and after-hours events are to be expected.
Interior design or relevant industry experience/knowledge required. Eye for design and a get it done attitude are a must.
Must have a vehicle that can accommodate hauling furniture (like a lounge chair), lighting, and marketing materials. Must be able & willing to lift 50 lbs.

What you'll do:
Continually build and enhance relationships, finding opportunities. Min 10 touchpoints per week.
Deliver ultimate customer service – quick and accurate responder
Create and maintain quotations and orders
Keep CRM (Hubspot) updated for contact, projects and touch points
Plan and execute unique and impactful events/meet ups/connections (with support from our team)
Deliver presentations to architects, designers, purchasing agents/dealers, owner's representatives, and end users
Physical sample delivery as requested (furniture, textiles, lighting, etc.) while managing sample inventory
Provide library updates (textiles, finishes, literature, etc.)
Maintain updated client information including contact data, special interests, etc.
Develop knowledge of all vendor products, pricing, options, finishes, details, etc.
Network through involvement with industry organizations (IIDA/NEWH/NAIOP/CoreNet/Crew)
Set Up/Attend trade shows and host designers and dealers locally and nationally (3-4 per year)
Occasional travel to Seattle for strategy meetings

Skills & Experience Needed:

− Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required
− Knowledge of CAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch-Up, and a CRM software not required but beneficial
