Summer Internship Opportunity!
Matson is now hiring for summer interns in our Anchorage, AK location. Join one of the leading U.S. Ocean carriers with a rich history in the ocean transportation industry.
The internship is a 10-week program from June 8 to August 14, 2026, that will provide hands-on experience by working on projects, analyzing processes, and providing solutions. You will learn about Matson, our industry, and our business.
About the Role
You will gain valuable business experience by working with our Marine and Terminal Operations teams. You will be learning job skills that will challenge your analytical and critical thinking abilities. Through Matson's internship program, you will interact with various functional leaders, mentors, and subject matter experts to enhance or develop new skills.
Matson interns are paid $25.00 per hour for up to 40 hours per week. Shifts and times may vary, and some weekend and evening work may be required.
Job responsibilities and duties:
* Support in various operational areas (marine, gate/yard, customer service, maintenance) to understand endtoend port and cargo movement processes.
* Support operational planning and administration, including vessel scheduling, stowage planning, workflow management, and participation in Capital Expenditure Requests.
* Maintain flexibility to meet operational needs while accurately using company systems and implementing process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Junior or Senior year, and actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Logistics.
* Microsoft Office experience at an Intermediate to Advanced skill level.
* Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Minimum 3.0 GPA.
