The Manager, Revenue Accounting and A/P position manages the Supervisors and departments responsible for invoicing customers, applying cash, obtaining/scanning/indexing shipping documents, and processing carrier invoices for payment.

The annual salary range is posted for this position in Illinois. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.

About The Role
The Manager, Revenue Accounting and A/P position manages the Supervisors and departments responsible for invoicing customers, applying cash, obtaining/scanning/indexing shipping documents, and processing carrier invoices for payment.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all AP functions for purchased transportation expenses excluding SPAN, MLSC and MLS. This includes timely payments to vendors, reconciliation of statements, reconciliation of AP interface files, and verification of vendor bank information.
- Oversee invoicing function for Transportation Brokerage, excluding SPAN and MLS.
- Oversee all cash application functions for MLI, MLM, and MLW.
- Responsible for the AP & AR balancing.
- Develops, implements, and maintains systems, procedures and policies ensuring adherence to company guidelines that make our processes efficient.
- Ensure teams follow all internal controls, and work with management on any necessary procedural changes to maintain SOX compliance.
- Directs and coordinates timely department reporting to the Financial reporting team to ensure information is available that is needed for month end reporting.
- Researches transactions as requested to help resolve general ledger reconciling items.
- Works with Supervisors to determine task assignments and cross-training of staff to ensure an equitable-as-possible workload distribution and completion of all critical and time-sensitive tasks on a daily basis.
- Works with Managers of other departments, ensuring open communication on customer and vendor requirements and dispute resolution.
- Trains, motivates, and evaluates subordinates. Provide the department with positive management leadership. Effectively communicate with each employee their goals and provide them with feedback. Reinforce positive behavior.
- Assists with other accounting functions and special projects, as necessary.
- Complies with all company rules, policies, and procedures. Works and behaves safely by following all safety rules and regulations.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college/university preferred. Concentration in Accounting/Finance a plus.
- Prior managerial experience of two or more associates. Must possess and exercise excellent managerial and customer service skills at all times.
- Experience in a high-volume business environment with a vendor and customer basis in excess of 1,000 businesses preferred.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Must have a firm grasp of business ethics with an emphasis on complete accountability concerning the company’s financial resources and reputation in the community. The ability to recognize where abuse and/or irresponsibility has occurred in that regard is a plus.
- Must consistently demonstrate professional and pleasant behavior and effectively communicate in stressful situations and/or environments.
- Strong interpersonal and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to plan, prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing customer requests and requirements.
- Ability to type thirty (30) or more words per minute and perform 10-Key commands.
- Previous transportation industry experience.
