MATRIX is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to support a high-volume sourcing team focused on large capital and onsite services projects within the nuclear energy sector. This role is not tied to a single project but will operate as an extension of the existing team, managing multiple sourcing initiatives end-to-end.
Hours: Standard business hours preferred, approximately 8 hours per day, flexible between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Consistency in daily schedule is expected
Duration: One year
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBLITIES
- Will be responsible for reviewing intake requests, leading sourcing events (RFPs/bids), negotiating pricing and contract terms, executing purchase orders, and managing supplier performance post-award.
- This individual will also ensure compliance, conduct vendor risk assessments, resolve invoice issues, and maintain detailed contract documentation in accordance with nuclear regulatory requirements.
- This is a highly collaborative yet self-directed environment, requiring someone who can independently manage their workload, communicate effectively with stakeholders and vendors, and proactively identify gaps or risks.
- Perform primarily office and non-manual work.
- Perform work related to the management or general business operations of MATRIX or its customers/clients, while exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance to MATRIX and its customers/clients.
- Interface with managers or head of a unit/department requiring the integration of multiple functional organizations.
- Use “lessons learned” to improve quality of MATRIX’s future projects; make recommendations to MATRIX as to the implementations of future policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
- Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or equivalent
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- The ability to communicate well both verbally and written as a business necessity to ensure the safe and efficient operations of business. Clear, concise and effective fluency in the English language is essential.
PREFERRED:
- SAP or e-sourcing tools (Coupa, etc.)
- CPSM or equivalent certification
- Experience in regulated or nuclear environments
