We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist with hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and strong proficiency in NetSuite ERP. This role is critical to ensuring the timely procurement of materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and supporting smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Order Management
- Create, process, and manage purchase orders within NetSuite
- Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle—from placement through delivery and closure
- Confirm pricing, lead times, and order accuracy with vendors
- Ensure timely procurement of consumables and production-critical materials
Vendor Management & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding orders, discrepancies, and delivery updates
- Maintain accurate vendor records, pricing agreements, and documentation in NetSuite
- Support vendor onboarding and ensure data integrity within the ERP system
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues as needed
Inventory & Manufacturing Support
- Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning to meet production demands
- Partner with warehouse and production teams to resolve receiving and material issues
- Support internal requisitions and ensure alignment with manufacturing schedules
Issue Resolution & Process Improvement
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, and shipments
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency gains, and process improvements
- Assist in tracking purchasing metrics and vendor performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, production, warehouse, sales, and accounting teams
- Support reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
- 1 year of purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP (strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes
- Experience managing vendor relationships and purchase order workflows
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus) and Outlook
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
Preferred:
- Experience supporting production planning or MRP-driven purchasing
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
