Investor Relations Intern (Menlo Park, CA)
About the Role
Looking for an ambitious Investor Relations Intern to directly help raise funds for an early‑stage global marketplace startup. Core responsibility: supporting the founder in securing VC and angel investment. This is in-person in Menlo Park with a path to long‑term leadership in fundraising/IR.
What You’ll Do
- Primary focus: Help execute the current fundraising round – research targets, craft outreach, manage pipeline.
- Map relevant VC funds, family offices, angels (US focus, Bay Area/Menlo Park).
- Craft investor materials: teasers, updates, emails, pitch support.
- Join founder on investor calls and in-person meetings – prep briefs, notes, follow-ups.
- Track fundraising CRM/pipeline: intros, commitments, close tracking.
- Monitor VC trends, comparable deals, and market intel.
Profile / Requirements
- Tier-1 VC internship (Accel, Sequoia, a16z, etc.) is a major plus.
- Knows VC basics: stages, terms, cap tables, SAFEs.
- Networking hustle: comfortable cold outreach systematic follow-up.
- Must be based in/relocate to Menlo Park / Bay Area.
Compensation & Path
Two tracks:
1. Long-Term (6–18 months)
- Equity-only (meaningful stake, vesting schedule).
- Path to Head of Fundraising/IR role.
- Own strategy execution.
2. Short-Term Internship (3–6 months)
- Performance-based cash (no equity).
- Execution focus: research, outreach, meetings.
- Top performance → long-term equity track.
