Purchasing Manager
Cockeysville, MD (hybrid)
We’re looking for a hands-on Purchasing Manager to take ownership of procurement for a growing manufacturing operation.
This role is critical to keeping production running smoothly — from sourcing raw materials and packaging to managing vendors and controlling costs.

Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day purchasing for materials, packaging, freight, and supplies
- Build strong vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or service
- Use ERP systems (SAP preferred) to create and manage purchase orders
- Handle 3-way matching (POs, receipts, invoices) and maintain accurate data
- Partner with production and warehouse teams to align purchasing with demand
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock
- Track vendor performance and quickly resolve any issues
- Support process improvements and help bring structure to procurement
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on ERP experience (SAP strongly preferred)
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
- Solid Excel skills and comfort working with data
- Someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and enjoys working cross-functionally
