Job Title: Governance & Controls Lead
Duration: 18 months
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Required Pay Scale: $60-$65/horu
Project Details:
The Enterprise Architecture Governance & Controls team has an opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to provide robust support, oversight, and execution of strategic and governance deliverables.
The ideal contractor is a senior, hands on execution lead with deep experience supporting technology lines of business through structured strategic forums, governance routines, and formal issue management. This includes ownership of audit raised, risk identified, regulatory, and self identified issues that must be remediated within defined timeframes.
They are not a passive coordinator or advisor - they own outputs end to end, connect many moving parts, drive issue remediation to closure, and move work forward despite ambiguity.
They bring a strong combination of analytical rigor, executive communication, operational discipline, and remediation execution, and are comfortable serving as the glue across initiatives, data sources, issue owners, and senior stakeholders.

• Owned recurring strategic, governance, or issue management forums (weekly or monthly), including:
o Agenda design and prioritization of issues and topics
o Input coordination across technology, risk, and business teams
o Data validation and material development
o Meeting facilitation and discussion leadership
o Decision capture, follow up, and action tracking
• Directly managed formal issue remediation processes, including:
o Audit identified, risk identified, regulatory, and self identified issues
o Clear articulation of issue statements, impacts, and root causes
o Tracking remediation plans, milestones, owners, and due dates
o Monitoring progress against committed timelines
o Proactively escalating blockers, risks of delay, or quality concerns
o Driving issues to closure or formal re assessment where required
• Supported technology, engineering, or architecture organizations, ideally in complex or regulated environments
• Produced executive level decks and reporting used by leadership to:
o Monitor issue health and remediation progress
o Make risk based decisions
o Hold teams accountable to commitments
• Worked in environments where:
o Direction evolves and priorities shift
o Requirements are not always fully defined
o They were expected to define structure, frame issues, and move work forward independently
• Written procedures, playbooks, or operating guides related to governance, issue management, and execution

• Quickly identifies inconsistencies in data or reporting and drives resolution
Executive Communication
• Advanced PowerPoint skills (structure, logic, executive storytelling)
• Strong written communication - precise, clear, and suitable for audit and executive audiences
• Able to communicate complex issues succinctly without diluting risk or accountability
Tools & Automation
• Advanced Excel (data reconciliation, issue tracking, analysis)
• Comfortable using Copilot and AI tools
• Able to design strong Copilot prompts to:
o Automate recurring issue reporting
o Improve consistency of governance and remediation deliverables
o Reduce manual effort while maintaining control and quality
