Matines Café is a quaint French café located in Wayne/Devon (Lancaster Ave). We are looking for a friendly, reliable, efficient server to join our popular café. Must work on week-ends and have reliable transportation. Matines Café is open 7 days, from 8am to 5pm.
Job Summary

Duties
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of food and beverage options to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely communication with the kitchen and bar staff
- Upsell menu items and specials to maximize sales while maintaining genuine guest engagement
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, ensuring proper presentation, food safety, sanitation, and adherence to food handling standards
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and maintaining a clean dining environment in accordance with sanitation guidelines
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately through POS systems like OpenTable or cashiering procedures
- Support guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or nightclub settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for order processing and sales tracking
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Culinary experience or kitchen background is a plus for understanding food preparation processes
- Prior experience in host/hostess roles or serving positions that involve guest interaction is highly desirable
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and order calculations
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed in a fast-paced environment
