TITLE OF VACANCY: STRIVE 3-5
LOCATION: Matheny-Withrow Elementary School
CONTRACT PERIOD: 180 days
REPORT TO: Building Principal
Sign on Bonus: For the 2025-2026 school year, a sign on bonus will be provided to new hires
The first installment ($2,000.00) shall be paid within thirty (30) days of the successful candidate’s start date.
The second installment ($2,000.00) shall be paid on the first paycheck in June 2026, following the successful candidate’s first year.
If the employee does not complete 4 years, they will be responsible for repayment of the prorated amount ($1,000.00 per year).
For the 2025-2026 school year, all teachers in the following positions will receive a stipend in the amount of $2,500.00.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 elementary endorsement
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in working with teachers, students, parents and staff
- Ability to informally assess learning and behavioral needs of students
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student in the classroom, focusing on academic, social, communication, and behavioral goals.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons using evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices (such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Structured Teaching, and Visual Supports).
- Implement the approved curriculum with fidelity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress, discuss strategies for supporting learning and behavior at home, and collaborate on IEP development and implementation.
- Implement positive behavior support strategies and proactive interventions to promote a positive and supportive learning environment, including the use of visual supports, structured routines, and sensory accommodations.
- Collect data on student progress towards IEP goals and objectives, analyze data to inform instructional decision-making, and adjust teaching strategies as needed to maximize student learning outcomes.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices
- Perform any other duties as assigned by building principal or student support services administrators.
