Role Overview
We are looking for a senior, consultative sales leader to drive new business growth and strategic client acquisition by positioning MathCo’s AI, analytics, and consulting capabilities as high-impact business solutions.
This is not a transactional sales role. The focus is on selling consulting as a service - engaging with senior stakeholders, shaping problem statements, and translating business needs into scalable analytics and AI-led solutions.
As Business Development Manager, you will:
- Own new logo acquisition by building and converting a strategic pipeline of enterprise clients
- Engage with C-level and senior business stakeholders to understand priorities and position MathCo as a transformation partner
- Lead consultative sales cycles, from problem framing through solutioning to closure
- Work closely with internal consulting, data, and engineering teams to shape compelling, differentiated proposals
- Drive long-term client value, not just initial deal closure
Key Responsibilities
- Build and execute a targeted go-to-market strategy to acquire new enterprise clients
- Lead consultative selling efforts, translating business challenges into AI, analytics, and data-driven solutions
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle, including opportunity identification, qualification, solutioning, proposal development, and deal closure
- Develop strong executive relationships across business and technology functions
- Partner with internal solutioning and delivery teams to craft high-quality, tailored proposals and POVs
- Identify and shape large, multi-phase consulting opportunities rather than one-off projects
- Drive pipeline discipline, forecasting, and revenue accountability
- Expand MathCo’s presence through strategic positioning, thought leadership, and market engagement
- Collaborate with Customer Success and delivery teams to ensure seamless transition and long-term account growth
What We’re Looking For
- 8–10 years of experience in consulting sales, enterprise sales, or business development within analytics, data, AI, or retail technology consulting
- Proven track record of selling consulting-led engagements (not just products or services)
- Strong ability to engage with C-suite and senior stakeholders and navigate complex enterprise environments
- Experience shaping and closing large, multi-million-dollar deals
- Deep understanding of data, analytics, AI, and digital transformation
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured solution approaches
- Strong executive presence, communication, and influencing skills
- Established network within target industries (Retail preferred, but flexible)
- MBA or equivalent preferred
