About the Role
As the AVP of Finance, you will partner closely with MCC’s Executive Vice President, President & CEO, and Board of Directors to guide the financial strategy of a multi‑program, multi‑funding‑stream organization. You will lead budgeting, audit oversight, compliance, forecasting, and financial reporting—while managing a high-performing finance and accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead organization-wide budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis & reporting.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership and the Board.
- Oversee annual audits, IRS 990 filings, and compliance across federal, state, and local funding.
- Ensure internal controls, GAAP compliance, and audit readiness.
- Manage and mentor finance department managers and senior staff.
- Collaborate with the Early Head Start Fiscal Officer and participate in Finance and Board committees.
- Optimize financial systems and data processes to support transparency and decision‑making.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 8–10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including 3 years in leadership.
- Experience with nonprofit financial management, fund accounting, and government grant compliance.
Strongly Preferred:
- CPA, CMA, or MBA in Finance.
- Experience with audits, financial modeling, and multi‑program budgeting.
- Proficiency with nonprofit financial systems (e.g., MIP) and advanced Excel.

- Hybrid role with some on‑site work.
- Occasional travel and non‑traditional hours as needed.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence and the ability to successfully pass a motor vehicle record check, where driving is an essential function of the role.

Salary : $95,000 - $117,000
