Matern Staffing is hiring a Membership Director for a premier sports and swim club in Stafford, VA. In this role, you’ll lead membership sales and engagement efforts while building strong relationships with current and prospective members to support the club’s continued growth.
As Membership Director, you’ll oversee membership operations and front desk staff, collaborate with all departments and community organizations, and develop strategies to optimize member recruitment and retention. Your leadership will play a key role in creating a welcoming club culture, strengthening community connections, and enhancing the overall member experience.
Salary: $50,000/yr

What You’ll Do:
- Lead all membership sales and retention efforts, managing the full membership lifecycle from prospecting and tours to enrollment and renewals
- Develop, implement, and monitor membership sales strategies, goals, and pricing initiatives to support club growth and financial objectives
- Build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and current members to generate partnerships, referrals, and new membership opportunities
- Respond to membership inquiries and conduct informative, engaging club tours for prospective members
- Maintain accurate membership records, billing processes, freezes, downgrades, terminations, and related documentation
- Prepare and analyze membership sales reports, budgets, and performance metrics while identifying opportunities for improvement
- Oversee Front Desk operations and provide leadership, training, and support to 1–2 supervisors overseeing a team of 15–20 employees
- Coordinate with all departments to ensure a positive and seamless member experience throughout the club
- Support marketing and promotional initiatives through outreach efforts, follow-up communications, and distribution of membership materials
- Attend meetings, trainings, and club events as required
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 1 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in membership sales, customer service, hospitality, fitness, recreation, or club management environments
- Proven leadership experience managing supervisors and team members in a fast-paced, service-focused setting
- Strong sales, relationship-building, and member retention skills with the ability to meet revenue and growth goals
- Experience preparing reports, analyzing sales performance, managing budgets, and supporting financial objectives
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and customer service skills
- Proficiency with membership management systems, billing processes, and Microsoft Office applications
