What you will do
- Act as the primary HR contact for all US employees, US managers, and managers abroad, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, policies, and workplace matters
- Advise and coach the management team and line managers regarding HR-related matters, such as performance management, career development, employee engagement, coaching, and disciplinary actions
- Support the hiring of production workers, and help the global recruitment team with more complex vacancies and follow-up on visa requirements
- Support business leaders and employees in a complex matrix organization, aligning global HR practices with business objectives
- Actively embody and promote the Materialise values by fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and inclusion across the workforce
- Manage the Payroll and Benefits Specialist responsible for US payroll and benefits administration; oversee accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing
- Own, maintain, and consistently apply US HR policies and procedures; drive continuous improvement through standardization, simplification, and documentation
- Lead the annual benefits review, including vendor management, plan evaluation, and employee communications
- Serve as the owner of the US payroll system (ADP) and ensure accurate application and integration of the global HRIS system (Workday) for US employees
- Collaborate with global HR colleagues on global programs and projects, supporting consistent implementation while addressing US regulatory and business needs
- Ensure compliant and consistent HR operations across a multi-state US environment, including employment law, payroll, and quality requirements
- Partner with finance, quality, and audit stakeholders to support internal controls, governance standards, and audit readiness related to HR and payroll
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred
- SHRM CP, SHRM SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
- 5 years of progressive HR experience, including responsibility for US multi-state HR operations
- Strong knowledge of US employment law, payroll, benefits, and compliance requirements
- Experience working in a matrixed, global, and/or regulated or quality-controlled environment
- Experience managing or administering US payroll processing using systems such as ADP in a multi-state environment required
- Proven experience managing and developing HR or administrative team members
- Experience with ADP and Workday preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- High attention to detail with a strong compliance and control mindset
