Shop Mechanic

Position Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing forklifts and other warehouse equipment at customer locations. This role requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on warehouse equipment
• Service electric, diesel, internal combustion, and propane-powered equipment
• Complete all required service documentation electronically within designated timeframes
• Coordinate with the Parts team to ensure correct parts and documentation are available
• Coordinate closely with Service Coordinators to optimize daily schedules, ensuring efficient workflow, accurate work orders, and the highest level of customer satisfaction.
• Perform all duties safely, efficiently, and promptly

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment or Diesel mechanic, forklift experience is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills
• Experience with rebuilding transmissions, engines, and cylinders required or ground-up motor builds.
• Ability to use voltmeters, ohm meters, and read electrical schematics
• Must own basic hand tools (company provides specialty tools and equipment)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Pre-employment screening and physical required
• Hourly rate based on experience
