A Network Engineer (CCNA) is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network systems. Leveraging the foundational knowledge validated by the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification, this role focuses on ensuring reliable connectivity, resolving network issues, and assisting in day-to-day operations of routing, switching, wireless, and security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure.
Support Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and other network appliances under the guidance of senior engineers.
Monitor network performance using standard tools and escalate issues when necessary.
Perform basic routing and switching configurations, including VLANs, trunking, STP, NAT, and inter-VLAN routing.
Support implementation and troubleshooting of network protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP (basic understanding).
Assist with VPN configurations, ACLs, and basic network security practices.
Document network changes, configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
Participate in hardware installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance activities.
Provide technical support for end users and resolve connectivity issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network requirements for applications and services.
Follow standardized procedures and best practices for network operations.
Required Qualifications
Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
1 3 years of experience in network support, IT infrastructure, help desk, or related roles.
Strong foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and basic network security.
Familiarity with Cisco IOS and common troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, packet capture, SNMP tools).
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki, ASA/FTD firewalls, wireless controllers, or VPN technologies.
Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Basic understanding of automation tools like Python or Ansible.
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience working in enterprise environments or supporting mission-critical systems.
