We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Paralegal for a client. The Junior Paralegal will support attorneys in various legal tasks and assist in day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree, a paralegal certificate (a plus), and a strong desire to pursue a career in law.
The Role:
1. Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including briefs, contracts, pleadings, and other legal correspondence.
2. Conduct legal research and gather relevant information from various sources to support case preparation.
3. Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
4. Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and depositions, and maintain calendars for attorneys.
5. Prepare and manage documentation for court filings, ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
6. Assist in drafting and reviewing legal contracts, agreements, and other legal documents as required.
7. Summarize and analyze legal documents and reports, highlighting key information for attorneys.
8. Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing correspondence, answering phone calls, and handling client inquiries.
9. Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and documents needed for legal proceedings.
10. Stay updated with changes in relevant laws and regulations and inform attorneys accordingly.
11. Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
12. Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive legal and client information.
Requirements
The Need:
1. Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
2. Paralegal certificate (a plus).
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Proficient in conducting legal research using various databases and resources.
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed.
7. Proficient in using legal software, such as case management systems and document management software.
