CNC Operator/Programmer

There’s something different about watching a machine bring your work to life.

You start with a drawing, a set of dimensions, and an idea of what the finished part needs to become.

You build the tool path. Set the machine. Make the first cut. Check the tolerances. Make an adjustment.

And eventually, a digital design becomes something real.

As a CNC Operator/Programmer at MasterSpas, you’ll combine machining skill, programming, mechanical problem-solving, and craftsmanship to create molds, fixtures, patterns, and production components that support how our hot tubs and swim spas are built. This isn’t a role where you simply load material and press Cycle Start. We’re looking for someone who understands the process, can troubleshoot when something isn’t right, and takes pride in producing accurate work.

What You’ll Do

You’ll own much of the machining process—from programming and setup through inspection and continuous improvement.

Turn Designs Into Parts

• Set up and operate CNC routers, mills, and other CNC equipment.
• Create, modify, and optimize CNC tool paths using CAM software.
• Review programs before machining to catch potential issues before material is cut.
• Load tooling, fixtures, and materials and prepare machines for production runs.
• Monitor machining operations and adjust programs or setups when needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  
  

Make Precision the Standard

A part being close enough isn’t enough when another process depends on it.

• Inspect finished components using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
• Compare completed work against engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
• Recognize machining or quality issues and determine what needs to change.
• Maintain the attention to detail necessary to produce consistent, repeatable results.
  
  

Know Your Machines

• Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues.
• Maintain tooling inventory and help identify replacement tooling needs.
• Keep machines, tooling, and work areas organized and ready for production.
  
  

Help Manufacturing Work Better

Your job doesn’t end when the part comes off the machine.

• Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, the Mold Shop, Production, Maintenance, and Quality.
• Build and modify fixtures that improve manufacturing operations.
• Support new projects and changing production needs.
• Identify better ways to program, machine, fixture, and produce components.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts that improve quality, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who sees CNC machining as more than operating equipment. You understand how the program, tooling, material, setup, machine, and finished part all work together. You’ll likely be successful if you:

• Have hands-on CNC machining experience.
• Understand CNC setup and machine operation.
• Have experience creating or modifying CNC tool paths using CAD/CAM software.
• Can read blueprints, engineering drawings, and ideally GD&T.
• Know how to use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Have strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy troubleshooting.
• Can work independently without needing someone standing over your shoulder.
• Are organized, detail-oriented, and serious about producing quality work.
• Have a technical certificate or associate degree in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field—or have developed your skills through hands-on experience.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday from 1:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., with possible overtime.

Compensation

$26.00–$30.00 per hour based on experience, plus a $1.50-per-hour second-shift premium.
