Role Description The Litigation Associate role is a full-time, on-site position based in Miami, FL. The individual in this role will handle a range of litigation tasks, including drafting and arguing motions, preparing legal memoranda, and conducting case law and statutory research. Daily responsibilities include managing discovery, preparing and reviewing pleadings and filings, and coordinating with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. The Litigation Associate will participate in depositions, hearings, and other court proceedings, while supporting trial preparation through witness coordination, evidence review, and strategy development. This role requires proactive case management, clear communication with colleagues and clients, and adherence to professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, including civil litigation procedures and applicable substantive practice areas.
- Demonstrated experience with Motions, including drafting, briefing, and oral argument in trial courts.
- Advanced Research skills in case law, statutes, regulations, and secondary legal sources.
- Experience preparing and defending Depositions, including witness preparation and transcript review.
- Familiarity with Courts at the state and/or federal level, including local rules, filing protocols, and courtroom practice.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in Florida or eligibility for prompt admission.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with legal teams and clients.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms and standard law firm technology tools.
- Prior litigation experience, such as a clerkship or work at a law firm, is highly beneficial.
