Job Description for BAS Control Technician - I

We’re seeking an experienced BAS Control Technician – I to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with commercial HVAC expertise who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Install, program, test, commission, and service DDC systems on assigned projects.
  • Interpret control drawings and plans; perform system modifications and preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare for site work by reviewing layouts, gathering materials, and coordinating activities.
  • Provide on-site technical support, training, and customer service.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, including time logs, service reports, and inventory records.
  • Identify and order necessary repair parts; manage assigned tools, equipment, and vehicle.
  • Support sales efforts by identifying leads and opportunities.
  • Stay current on company products and best practices.
  • Travel regularly (approx. 25%) with occasional overnight stays; flexible to work overtime/weekends.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and HVAC control schematics.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with DDC systems.
  • Effective communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proficient with hand tools, testing equipment, and digital platforms.
  • Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six (6) months experience in control systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Travel to job sites and other company offices within the state is required. Occasional out-of-state travel may be necessary for training or business meetings.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
