We’re looking for an engineer who loves building real-world solutions—not just code on a screen. In this role, you’ll design and support applications that tie RFID hardware, VB.NET software, and our production operations together to improve traceability, automation, and inventory control.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain VB.NET applications that integrate with RFID systems.

• Configure and support RFID readers, antennas, and tags (UHF, HF, passive/active).

• Build and maintain middleware and interfaces between RFID hardware, databases, and ERP systems.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues related to RFID functionality.

• Partner with operations, engineering, and IT to understand process requirements and design RFID-enabled solutions.

• Document technical specs, workflows, and system designs.

• Ensure data integrity, security, and read performance in warehouse and manufacturing environments.

• Deploy software updates, patches, and new features.

• Provide training and support to end users and technical staff.

What You Bring (Required)

• Proficiency in VB.NET, Windows Forms, and the .NET Framework.

• Hands-on experience with RFID hardware and software systems.

• Understanding of RFID communication protocols (e.g., EPC Gen2, ISO/IEC 18000 series).

• Familiarity with SQL Server or other relational databases.

• Experience with API integration (REST, SOAP) and interfacing with PLCs or SCADA systems.

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with RFID vendors such as Impinj, Zebra, ThingMagic, or similar.

• Familiarity with middleware platforms (e.g., BizTalk, Kepware, or custom middleware).

• Knowledge of barcode systems, IoT, or automation technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based, with regular visibility to shop floor and warehouse environments.

• May involve installing, configuring, or positioning RFID hardware.

• Occasional after-hours or on-call support may be needed during deployments or major changes.
