About This Role
As a Project Engineer Intern, you will gain exposure to real-world project operations and the electrical industry. The Project Engineer Intern will work closely with our experienced project management team, supporting them in day-to-day tasks while developing an understanding of project lifecycles and workflows, documentation processes, and industry practices. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented individual who is looking to build foundational knowledge in project coordination, problem-solving, and communication in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other reports
- Support project management team with day-to-day tasks such as job setup, invoice/labor review, billings, permitting, scheduling, etc.
- Help coordinate between field teams, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution
- Participate in job walks and meetings
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Assist with preparing reports to track costs and overall project progress
- Provide general administrative and project support as needed
Competencies & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read/willingness to learn to interpret electrical drawings and technical documents
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a project team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management software is a plus
Compensation
This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Compensation for this position is $25.00 per hour.
