Duties
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris and setting up safety barriers
- Support carpenters, masons, and other trades with tasks such as framing, drywall installation, and trim carpentry
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to perform tasks like cutting, drilling, and assembling materials
- Help with concrete mixing, pouring, finishing, and formwork installation for various structures
- Install rebar reinforcement and assist with masonry work including bricklaying, stucco application, and tile laying
- Support heavy equipment operation such as forklifts or concrete pumps under supervision
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to assist in accurate material placement and project execution
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and supplies to ensure timely progress on the job site
- Support renovation and restoration projects by preparing surfaces, caulking gaps, or applying plastering techniques
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
Experience
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in related trades preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, or technical drawings is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with concrete finishing, framing carpentry, metal stud framing, roofing or flooring installation is desirable
- Ability to operate heavy machinery or equipment such as concrete mixers or cranes is beneficial
- Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites is essential
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods; comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
