Position Description: The Assembly Technician is responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly of complex, custom automated machinery systems used in manufacturing environments. This position plays a key role in building, modifying, and integrating automation equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The Assembly Technician utilizes mechanical aptitude, fabrication skills, and precision assembly techniques to ensure machinery is built safely, accurately, and efficiently while supporting Masterbilt’s commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assemble custom fabricated mechanical machine components and automation systems according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.

· Perform drilling, tapping, fitting, and assembly of automation hardware and mechanical subassemblies.

· Measure, mark, fabricate, and modify components to ensure proper fit, function, and alignment.

· Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment to complete assigned work.

· Verify assemblies meet design specifications and quality requirements.

· Assist with machine installation, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging activities as required.

· Identify and communicate assembly issues, deficiencies, or opportunities for process improvements to supervisors and engineering personnel.

· Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support project completion and improve assembly processes.

· Maintain accurate assembly records and documentation as required.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.

· Follow established safety procedures and utilize required personal protective equipment.

· Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines and production schedules.

· Maintain current job knowledge through training, educational opportunities, and review of technical information.

· Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and quality requirements.

· Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.

Qualifications and Competency Requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED, required

· Technical training, vocational education, or trade certification in manufacturing, automation, mechanical assembly, or related field preferred

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience in manufacturing, machinery assembly, automation assembly, or related mechanical assembly environment required.

· Experience assembling mechanical systems, automation equipment, or industrial machinery preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

· Experience using precision measuring devices and mechanical assembly tools

· Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.

· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

· Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams.

· Ability to work independently and closely follow directions

· High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask.

· Excellent communication skills (both interpersonal and written).

· Willingness to embrace and actively support the unique culture and values of Masterbilt

· Ability to focus on the tasks and details relevant to the position, while also switching quickly between tasks

· Dependable work habits, including punctuality, attendance, and accountability.

· Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested.

Physical Activities & Working Conditions: The physical demands and working conditions described here are representative, but not exhaustive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is primarily performed in a manufacturing and assembly environment and requires the ability to stand for extended periods of up to 6-8 hours. Duties involve frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials and components. The role requires regular use of hands for operating tools, equipment, keyboarding, and writing. The individual must be able to effectively read, interpret, and respond to work instructions, drawings, and communications throughout the workday. Frequent interaction with coworkers, supervisors, engineers, and customers may be required. This position requires fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. on a sporadic basis. · The employee is regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. The employee may be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, or safety footwear while performing duties in manufacturing and assembly areas.

Work Schedule: The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with hours based on a production environment, with occasional nights and weekends, depending on the needs of the position and the organization.

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
