The applicant should be proficient in basic research and molecular methods including cell culture, western blotting, qPCR, etc., and familiar with using animal model systems. Knowledge of genetics, molecular biology and cancer biology is also preferred. Potential projects for the post-doctoral associate include those related to gaining insights into the molecular pathogenesis of sarcoma development and metastasis, as well as further our understanding of therapeutic resistance, microenvironmental factors and transcriptional regulation. In addition, integration of applicant’s own prior research experience and independent ideas will be highly encouraged and considered. The applicant should have strong writing and oral communication skills and be willing to participate and present research at a variety of venues including laboratory meetings and conferences. The post-doctoral associate will meet with the PI on a regular basis to discuss research progress as well as any technical issues and outline of future directions.
