Job Title :- Data Engineer
Location: Hybrid (Acton, MA or San Diego, CA) – ideally 2–3 days onsite per week
Duration: 6 Months
Hours: 40/week
Key Responsibilities
- SQL & Data Engineering – Design, write, and maintain complex SQL queries (Databricks, stored procedures) to integrate data from multiple sources and generate actionable datasets.
- Pipeline Management – Maintain and update monthly data refresh pipelines, including competitive updates and Total Addressable Market (TAM) analyses using claims data.
- Healthcare Data Insights – Build robust datasets leveraging claims data, real-world evidence, product usage, and patient-level insights to inform market intelligence and enhance consumer experience.
- Data Validation – Apply rigorous validation principles to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across datasets and deliverables.
- Metrics & Reporting – Partner with senior managers and directors to define and track KPIs, operational metrics, and reporting requirements.
- Visualization & Storytelling – Develop and deliver compelling dashboards, charts, and reports using Tableau, Databricks Gen AI/BI Genie, and Excel.
- Project Management – Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
Qualifications
- SQL Expertise – Proven ability to design, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extracts.
- Databricks Experience – Hands-on experience with data pipelines, large-scale datasets, and file feeds.
- Claims Data Knowledge – Familiarity with healthcare datasets, particularly claims and patient-level data; medical device data (diabetes) experience preferred.
- Data Processing & Validation – Strong skills in data profiling, quality checks, and analytics for structured and semi-structured data.
- Visualization Skills – Advanced proficiency in Tableau and Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data comparison).
- Analytical & Problem-Solving – Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights and recommendations.
- Communication & Collaboration – Strong cross-functional stakeholder management and presentation skills.
- Self-Starter – Comfortable working with imperfect or siloed datasets and independently driving solutions.
