Intern - IT

Responsible for assisting with maintaining day-to-day computer operations of Mastec CE&I Services. This individual can expect to work approximately 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will reside near one of our locations and be able to work part time or full time with very flexible hours in the summer and continuing into the school year!

• Work under close supervision to provide technical support to end-users and complete special projects as assigned.
• Support and maintenance of IT hardware, software, and systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting issues and providing end-user technical support.
• Assist with organization and maintaining IT hardware resources
• Effectively and professionally document service desk requests
• Act as a resource on various IT-related projects

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:            

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program related to computer science, information systems/technology or engineering.
• Have a minimum GPA of 2.9 or higher in relevant coursework

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles
• Ability to interact with clients, managers and employees with a high level of professionalism
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially and professionalism
• High attention to detail
• All other duties as assigned by the IT Support Supervisor

HOURS:

This position is a Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week.  Schedule is subject to projects requirements.
