Role Description
MasTec Industrial is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to join our team in Boise, ID. This is an on-site position responsible for ensuring quality and compliance with welding codes and standards. Daily responsibilities include inspecting welds, verifying welding procedures, documenting compliance, monitoring pre-weld and post-weld activities, and collaborating with the project team to ensure safety and efficiency. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in welding inspection and quality assurance processes.
Qualifications
- Possess a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) and a thorough understanding of national welding codes and standards.
- Experience in inspection techniques, visual examination, and nondestructive testing (NDT).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with project teams and report findings.
- Proficiency with creating and maintaining detailed inspection reports and documentation.
- Commitment to workplace safety and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Willingness to work on-site in Boise, ID with flexibility for overtime or additional hours when required.
- Previous experience in power, industrial, or construction sectors is preferred but not mandatory.
