What You'll Be Doing
- Perform structural inspections in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications for concrete, masonry, steel, welding, and fireproofing.
- Conduct soil density and concrete testing and report findings accurately.
- Interpret project drawings and specifications to verify compliance with applicable codes and engineer requirements.
- Clearly communicate inspection results and project requirements to Project Managers, Contractors, Engineers, and Testing Technicians.
- Prepare detailed, legible inspection reports and maintain project records without ambiguity.
- Maintain certifications and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policy.
- Uphold a professional attitude and appearance while interacting with clients and project stakeholders.
- Turn in timecards and datasheets daily, while keeping company vehicles and equipment in proper working order.
- High School diploma or equivalent; ability to perform written instructions, procedures, and calculations.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction inspections, materials testing, or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, and inspection methods.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks including lifting (up to 100 lbs), climbing ladders/scaffolding (up to 100'), twisting, and crouching.
- Excellent communication skills and professional client-facing presence.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Recommendations from three Project Managers.
- High level of leadership and technical skills.
- Strong record of client satisfaction (less than 1% client complaints).
- Ability to manage multiple inspection assignments independently with accuracy and timeliness.
- ICC Certifications in one or more of the following:
- Reinforced Concrete
- Structural Masonry
- Structural Steel and Welding
- Spray-Applied Fireproofing
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
- OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Safety Training
