Role Overview

Provides advanced nursing and medical care, including independent and delegated functions, to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients. Utilizes specialized knowledge of biological, physical, social, and behavioral sciences to advocate for patients, develop treatment plans, perform procedures within scope, and educate patients and families on health promotion and disease prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects comprehensive patient histories, conducts physical exams, and reviews relevant tests to assess medical, psychological, and socio-economic status.
  • Formulates accurate diagnoses, develops and implements treatment plans, and orders medications or tests as needed.
  • Performs procedures within expertise and organizational policies, ensuring safety and efficacy.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families, promoting culturally-sensitive, evidence-based health information.
  • Documents all patient interactions thoroughly and manages telehealth or emergency responses.
  • Collaborates with healthcare team members, maintains professional competence, and adheres to legal and organizational standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Masters Degree in Nursing for APNs or Bachelors Degree for PAs, from accredited programs.
  • Active licensure and certifications relevant to the role (e.g., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant).
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate professional development, and maintain credentialing requirements.
