The Interventional Radiographer is responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images through knowledge of invasive procedures, radiologic sciences, and patient care.
Key responsibilities include demonstrating expertise in Neuro Interventional Radiology procedures such as aneurysm repairs, cerebral bleeds, embolizations, clot evacuations, endovenous laser ablations, and GI bleed interventions.
Essential duties encompass applying technical skills in interventional radiology, following safety protocols, providing comprehensive patient care, organizing patient data, operating HIS, RIS, and PACS systems, producing and evaluating radiographs, and recognizing normal and abnormal image findings for proper reporting.
Qualifications include completion of a recognized Radiologic Technology Program, a minimum of one year of radiology experience, and licensure as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT). Registration with ARRT in radiography and certification in vascular or cardiovascular intervention is required within one year of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and computer proficiency are also necessary.
