Role: The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing safe, efficient patient care by utilizing the nursing process and adhering to hospital policies.
Key Duties: Supervises nursing activities, delegates tasks to staff and auxiliary nurses, manages patient records, assists with staff performance reports, handles bed assignments, and resolves department issues. Maintains inventory standards for supplies, medications, and equipment, including narcotics tracking.
Qualifications: Requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN), a current RN license, and BLS certification within 30 days. Additional unit-specific certifications may be needed.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
