Position Summary
The Volunteer Center at MCLA is seeking motivated and community-driven studentss to serve as the Volunteer Center Coordinators. This student leadership role is ideal for someone passionate about civic engagement, community building, and service learning. The Coordinator will oversee day-to-day outreach operations, help develop volunteer programs, and act as a liaison between the campus and the greater North Adams community, including public schools, nonprofits, and other service organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and promote volunteer opportunities for MCLA students through tabling, digital outreach, and campus events.
Maintain regular communication with local partners such as North Adams Public Schools, local nonprofits, and civic organizations.
Assist in the planning and implementation of community service days, campus-wide drives, and service-learning events.
Recruit, train, and support student volunteers and student organizations engaged in service.
Track student volunteer hours and participation data using designated tools or databases.
Attend and support regular Volunteer Center team meetings.
Represent the Volunteer Center at campus events and community meetings when appropriate.
Work collaboratively with the Director of Civic Programming to identify new partnerships and program opportunities.
Requirements
Qualifications
Must be a currently enrolled MCLA student in good academic and disciplinary standing.
Strong interest in community engagement, civic responsibility, and/or education.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable working with both college students and external community partners.
Prior Volunteer Experience Preferred But Not Required.
