SUPERVISES: Gallery 51 professional and student staff
STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee contracting details with guest artists and curators.
Generate and coordinate gallery installation timelines, and as needed participate in installation and deinstallation of exhibitions.
Coordinate with local fabricators to provide for material needs and resources to execute installations.
Provide administrative support to Director in the development and implementation of MCLA community and campus arts programming such as Gallery 51 installations and MOSAIC performances, as well as other programming.
Oversee day-to-day management of galleries and student employees.
Develop, implement, and contribute to the marketing of the programming for MOSAIC, including print and social media.
Maintain the Web and social media presence for MOSAIC programming and initiatives.
Manage budgets and engage in planning for MOSAIC and its associated programs and activities.
Collect information and maintain an active database of sales, attendance at events, and number of program participants.
Job Requirements:
BA / BFA / BS required in a related field from an accredited institution required.
Masters-level work in Arts Management, preferably in the field of museum or gallery management.
Experience in managing student workforce.
Experience in coordinating with multiple vendors and contractors on a given project.
Must have prior budget and planning experience in a cultural organization or small business setting.
Highly developed organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with college academic departments as well as the surrounding cultural communities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A minimum of five years of administrative and program management experience in comparable program required.
