Job Summary: The MTSS Instructional Assistant assists the classroom teacher in providing multi-tiered systems of support to students in the classrooms. The assistant works directly with students who have a variety of needs, including physical, emotional and learning, providing personalized assistance. Some of the responsibilities include providing one-on-one or small group instruction, supporting classroom activities, support intervention strategies, and collect data on student progress.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Positive attitude and rapport with students
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and students
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as an instructional assistant
- College classes in English, math, and/or education
Job Description:
- Assist in the tutoring of individual students or groups of students
- Assist teacher in helping students develop a positive self-concept
- Assist in student intervention work & progress monitoring
- Assist in the preparation of intervention materials
- Assist in keeping intervention materials & room neat and orderly
- Work collaborative as member of building Multi-Tiered Systems and Support (MTSS) team
- Supervises students upon arrival to school
- Supervises a portion of lunch recess
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all school-related information
- Shall perform other duties as assigned by the principal
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- The position requires occasional lifting of students, supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
- Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, 4.00 hours daily, 20.00 hours weekly, August to June
Salary:
$14.05 per hour

- The SETSEG Healthcare clinic can be used by Aides/Paraprofessionals and immediate family members (spouse and/or dependents), at no cost. The clinic offers primary care, x-rays, some medical procedures, lab work, and limited pharmacy services.
