What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Coordinator position at Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA)?
The Role
The Mason Contractors Association of America is building the MASONRY STRONG Network, a video-first multimedia platform and a slate of roughly a dozen original streaming shows serving every segment of the $41 billion masonry industry. We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator to own how that content shows up in the feed.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who can cut a clip, design a thumbnail, schedule a week of posts, and read what an audience actually responds to. You will build and grow our social presence across the MASONRY STRONG Network and the MCAA brand, turning long-form show footage into short-form moments that meet the trade where it already is. It is also a role with room to grow into a social leadership position as the Network expands.
Responsibilities
- Short-form editing: Cut long-form show footage into clean, platform-ready clips (roughly one minute and under) using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar tools.
- Graphics and thumbnails: Design thumbnails and supporting graphics in Adobe Creative Suite to give every show and post a consistent look.
- Brand content: Build sizzle reels that package the Network for partners and audiences.
- Channel strategy: Develop and publish content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and more), tailoring the post and its variations to each channel and its audience rather than cross-posting the same thing everywhere.
- Scheduling and calendar: Own the social calendar and run it through a scheduling platform, adjusting copy and creative per channel.
- Copy: Write captions and supporting copy that match the brand voice.
- Production support: Help on shoots as needed, including lighting and on-set assistance.
- Brand voice: Bring a point of view on how we sharpen and grow our social presence over time.
Skills/Background
- A working knowledge of today's social platforms, trends, and the different audiences that live on each one.
- Short-form video editing skills in CapCut and/or another video editing software, with the ability to turn raw footage into a finished clip.
- Graphic design ability in Adobe Creative Suite (thumbnails, social graphics).
- Hands-on experience with at least one social media scheduling platform.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a multi-channel posting calendar without dropping a beat.
- An eye for brand consistency and a feel for what a channel's look and feel should be.
- Comfort on a set and a willingness to pitch in on production.
- A team-first attitude and the ability to take direction and run with it in a small, fast-moving shop.
- A degree in a visual communications field (editing, marketing, or graphic design) is preferred but not required. We care more about the work than the diploma.
Salary and Compensation
Salary will be $40,000-$45,000 or fit to experience. Benefits include paid time off, sick time, 401k match, and health insurance for employee.
