SUMMARY OF POSITION
Performs a variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of specific production units. Uses standard electronic assembly tools and materials. May perform modifications, rework and quality testing. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering for UL/CSA agencies testing for approval and to help develop testing procedures and troubleshooting of products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform safety agency testing, electromechanical troubleshoot capabilities of mid-range to highly complex Electrical/Electronic and Sealed products and assemblies.
- Testing of electrical units for voltages withstand, environmental, overload and temperature tests, with some vibration and mechanical shock as well as putting units into burn-in ovens; testing is performed using state of the art standard, specialized, manual, and automated test equipment to specifications outlined in specific module performance specifications and acceptance test procedures. test procedures, assembly drawings and schematics as well as input test yield data.
- Assemble, modify, repair, and improve existing electronic products, equipment, and controls and will assist in developing new or updated electronic systems, components, or products.
- Experience in the test, tune, and troubleshoot of a variety complex Hybrid Electrical and Electronic assemblies.
- Utilize hand tools such as digital voltmeter, torque drivers, tweezers, and other similar tools; Good dexterity, eye/hand coordination.
- Ability to read and work from detailed process sheets and drawings; Good computer skills are required to support retrieval of drawings and work instructions as well as other job activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Technical Degree, Vocational Degree or associate degree from a recognized college or technical institute with a major study in laboratory technology, avionics, or electronics.
- Experience: One year of experience in laboratory work conducting a wide variety of calibrations and maintenance relative to the Electronic Engineering Technology labs
- Knowledge of the procedures and practices of laboratory technology such as electronic document control.
- Knowledge of the use of laboratory equipment and skill in the application of techniques utilized in conducting analyses using complicated laboratory equipment
- Ability to follow standard laboratory methods and procedures
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience operating computer driven electro-mechanical equipment
- Experience soldering components in accordance with J-STD-001 to support the tuning process
- Experience with data analysis of test data
- Experience in writing test procedures and troubleshooting from schematics
- Experience in mechanical assembly processes of small electronic devices
- Experience working on military products in ISO 9001 / AS9100 controlled environments
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment; Good interpersonal, teaming and communication skills
