MSCFV has been serving victims of domestic violence in the five counties of Maryland’s Mid-Shore for more than 30 years. Through our Chesapeake Crisis to Self-Sufficiency Model®, our dedicated case managers connect our clients with basic needs, housing, legal services, counseling, and much more as they walk with our neighbors on their journey to become self-sufficient survivors.

About The Job

The Legal Advocate will report to the Director of Victim Services and will work with victims and survivors of domestic violence in the Mid-Shore area of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. This is a full-time, in-person position (40 hours per week) covering 3 Mid-Shore Counties.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent – degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, or related degree is preferred.
• Experience working in the legal system and/or with law enforcement is preferred.
• Must have own transportation.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to speak both English and Spanish is a plus Position Responsibilities
  
  

The Legal Advocate will provide a number of services for victims and survivors of domestic violence, including:

• Direct client work.
• Assisting with the completion of legal forms.
• Assisting clients in writing victim impact statements.
• Accompanying clients to court appearances.
