Job Description: Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Division Chief to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group. The position is located at MES Headquarters in Millersville, MD. The ideal candidate will be able to bring their experience to the group to develop, direct, and oversee technical and management staff, while supporting a wide range of land, water, and energy projects and a diverse range of clients. This position will oversee division services and strategic planning; ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget; implement effective communication and control procedures; define roles and accountability for staff; build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders; and provide senior-level technical, scientific, and policy guidance to leadership and partners. This position is responsible for assuring that all services performed by the group are cost effective, efficient, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The selected candidate should have experience in business development, labor management, technical writing, strategic planning and project management. A highly qualified candidate will have technical experience in multidisciplinary environmental fields which may include environmental permitting at the state and federal level, experience with energy sector projects, comprehensive knowledge of transportation sector needs, and familiarity with state and federally sponsored grant programs.
