What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER position at Maryland Department of Health?
The main purpose of this position is to administer, coordinate, and continuously evaluate the housekeeping services and procedures at Deer's Head Hospital Center; a chronic disease hospital, comprehensive care unit, kidney dialysis unit, and an inpatient Hospice unit.
Education: None.
Experience:One year of experience supervising housekeeping and custodial activities at a large State institution or two years of experience supervising housekeeping and custodial activities at a small or medium sized State institution.
OR
Experience:Eight years full-time experience or its equivalent in a large scale housekeeping operation at a school, hospital, hotel, or other institution, four years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
The Desired Candidate Should Possess The Following
Education: None.

- Experience providing housekeeping services in a healthcare setting
- Experience maintaining a schedule for housekeeping staff including laundry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Docs and Sheets
- 1. Employees in this classification may be required to work on weekends and holidays based on staffing needs. Employees required to work on those days will receive compensatory time off on other days.
- Employees in this classification may be required to live on the grounds of the assigned institution or agency.
