Mary Wade is seeking an experienced Receptionist receives and directs callers to appropriate destination, performs clerical functions independently and proactively and maintains a high level of security for the building.

 

Schedule: Every Wednesday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and as needed throughout the week and weekend.  Ability to come in early, stay later or weekends when needed when there are callouts and coverage cannot be found.

 

Hourly Rates Ranges: $17.50 

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience and/or knowledge of the senior retirement community or healthcare setting  is required
  • Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound decisions
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Typing skills and computer knowledge.
  • Prior MS Office experience, including Word and Excel.
  • Compiles with and promotes all rules regarding residents’ rights.
  • Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with peers and other departments.
  • Contributes to meeting the fluctuating staffing needs of the department as evidenced by flexibility in own assignments and work schedules.
  • Attends all mandatory education and in-service programs as indicated by attendance records.
  • Engages in positive customer service interaction with residents, families and visitors.
  • Takes ownership of an error in delivery of service and works to correct the problem.
  • Displays good attendance and is punctual.

We have 94 beds, 3 shifts, every other weekend rotations and shift differentials. Additional training and support is always available.

 

Our resident population is primarily seniors with varying levels of acuity.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving, directing incoming calls, taking messages, and ensuring that messages are given to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Greets visitors and contractors and assures they are signed in appropriately.
  • Notifies clinical team when a resident returns from the hospital.
  • Complies with and promotes all rules regarding resident, employee and facility rights, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Experience with  Microsoft Outlook and Excel a plus
  • Distributes all incoming mail and makes sure outgoing mail is taken by the mail carrier.
  • Types correspondence and documents as assigned
  • Maintain a presence at all times at the reception desk to ensure the safety of our residents and to prevent elopement. Seek coverage when necessary to leave the reception desk for an extended period of time.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
  • Be friendly, courteous and supportive to residents, families, visitors, employees entering or exiting the building
  • Speak with respect and professionalism to all. Be kind and empathetic.
  • Do the best work possible, every day. Follow policies and do the right thing.
  • Be on time. Be ready to work when the shift starts. Be reliable. Be a good team player.
