Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Preschool Teacher to support early childhood education in a nurturing classroom environment. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing curriculum plans, fostering a positive learning atmosphere, and supporting the developmental needs of young children. Experience with children, classroom management, and early childhood education principles are essential to help promote literacy, math skills, social-emotional development, and inclusive practices for children with diverse needs, including those with autism and disabilities. Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including curriculum development for literacy, math, and behavior management.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment conducive to learning and play.
- Provide individualized attention to children, including toddlers and preschoolers, supporting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Implement activities that promote inclusive education for children with autism or disabilities, utilizing techniques such as Montessori or other specialized approaches.
- Foster positive behavior through effective behavior management strategies and encourage social skills among children.
- Support classroom routines such as circle time, snack time, nap time, and outdoor activities while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to child development.
- Assist in documenting children's progress and participating in team meetings focused on curriculum planning and developmental assessments.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, including literacy education, math fundamentals, behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with children with special needs such as autism or disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with curriculum development methods such as Montessori or other early childhood education frameworks.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment supporting inclusive practices for diverse learners.
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory. Job Type: Part-time
