If these statements apply to you, Mary’s Land Farm would love for you to be the new Produce Program Manager! Our farm is situated on 160 acres in Ellicott City, MD and boasts a variety of products and experiences for the local community. The produce program is one of the newest ventures at Mary’s Land Farm and includes a ⅓ acre hydroponic greenhouse which utilizes NFT systems and a 30,000 gallon DWC (deep water culture). Additionally, we operate a soil greenhouse and outdoor garden space to produce seasonal root crops, flowers, and seasonal produce. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Improve and expand existing produce operations, specifically soil and orchard operations
- Work with Hydroponic Manager, Soil Manager, and VP of Produce Program to create and execute production schedules
- Effectively plan for wholesale, retail, and CSA allocations with VP of Program
- Monitor operations of growers to ensure production schedules, dally operations, and IPM are being effectively executed
- Employ FSMA and naturally-grown standards in all operations
- Monitor and ensure timeliness and effectiveness of produce operations
- Assess employee performance and give constructive feedback and training as needed
- Keep written and digital records of all operations
- Communicate with other farm employees about available produce and tour/class availability
- Create efficient employee work schedules; create and monitor labor reports and make necessary adjustments
- Work with VP and other employees to ensure materials and supplies are properly inventoried and ordered when needed
- Other duties as needed
