 JOB PURPOSE  

Responsible for marketing Mary Kay products to both consumers and the Mary Kay Sales Force. Under direction from Marketing Manager, responsible for the development and creation of effective marketing initiatives and events to provide an engaging experience for the Mary Kay Independent Sales Force. Obtains critical information and feedback from the independent sales force via research and utilizes information to identify opportunities for improvement. Responsible for administering product marketing and promotional communication and tactics.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

·         Accountable for leading assigned US product category and monitors the complete product life-cycle management of assigned product category. Recommends new product pricing and identifies opportunities for regular line price increases. Responsible for coordinating product launch and promotional communication and tactics. Performs market research, product health reviews and competitive analysis to identify areas of improvement. Identifies product gaps through competitive research. Serves as the expert resource to external departments regarding product launches. Partners with Canada to ensure cohesive product launches and promotions. Communicates with all US Marketing teams, Sales Force Communications, Sales Education, Brand Development, Global Inventory Planning, and Finance in preparation for quarterly product launches.

·         Customer Delivery Service, Guest Checkout, EZ Ship Oversight –

o   Owns the Customer Delivery Service (CDS), Guest Checkout and EZ Ship programs, including creating and managing product sample offerings and maintaining current BOMs (Bills of Materials).

o   Perform ongoing analysis to optimize the selection of products offered ensuring that sample offerings align with customer and market needs.

·         Special Events – Oversee the planning and execution of the marketing experience at Leadership Conferences and Seminars.

o   Collaborate proactively with category owners and event partners to define and refine booth and display requirements.

o   Lead and guide external vendors to ensure marketing materials and product displays are executed to meet event goals.

o   Develop and manage the volunteer schedule and conduct training sessions in collaboration with category owners to ensure successful on-site execution.

o   Lead the on-site event set-up and tear-down, ensuring that logistics and marketing elements are executed flawlessly.

o   Supports other sales force or consumer events as needed. Thinks critically and recommends efficiencies and opportunities to streamline when needed.

·         Forecasting & Promotional Calendar –

o   Leads the annual promotional planning to support the development of the US product calendar. Analyzes and researches competitive landscape, past promotions, independent sales force feedback regarding promotional quarters, special promotions, and regular line items. Assists team with post-promotional analyses. Creates and disseminates the Product Launch Illustrated Calendar which provides internal departments with key product launch information. Drive the creation and ongoing management of the internal promotional calendar, collaborating with category owners and forecast partners to ensure accurate product launch details and timelines.

o   Proactively lead the process of collecting, organizing, and updating information to support forecasting and alignment across internal teams.

·         Consultant Order Form and system requirements – Independently serves as the project manager for the COF and EOF, the printed documents that outline all of the products and pricing available for the independent salesforce to order. This document also serves as the basis for what is listed in the Online Ordering system and on Marykay.com. Creates the documents, and compiles, writes and routes changes to departments involved, including Marketing and Legal.

·         Special Mailer/Product Giveaway Strategy/Special Partnerships –

o   Manages all sales force ambassador product mailings to support early adoption and education for upcoming product launches. In partnership with other product category owners, determines all early product giveaways (i.e. Leadership Conference NSD giveaway, Inner Circle, NSD trip, Top Director Trip, etc.) and oversees the execution of these special mailings.

·         Product Feedback & Continuous Improvement -

o   Collect and analyze feedback from the salesforce regarding products and marketing initiatives at events.

o   Provide detailed reporting on feedback and use insights to identify opportunities for product development or quality improvements.

o   Analyzes data to determine if there are quality issues or opportunities for product development.

o   Provides careful analysis of feedback to Director of Marketing and escalates any critical issues identified to be shared back with the NPD team.

·         Makeover Contest Management -

o   Support the annual makeover contest, including participation in the winner selection process, prize recommendations, and coordination of prize distribution.

o   Collaborate with finance to ensure budget management and resolve invoicing matters related to the contest.

o   Contribute to the development of marketing assets to promote the contest to both the sales force and consumers.

·         This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management or related discipline

Experience – 2 years experience in marketing, project management and/or direct sales.  Consumer/packaged goods experience preferred.

·         Must possess the ability to brainstorm and develop innovative ideas and solve problems with a fresh, creative perspective.

·         Strong project management skills to manage and execute projects with little supervision.

·         Must be organized, have a strong attention to detail and be self-directed to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision of tasks.

·         Must possess solid analytical abilities in order to determine programs' effectiveness, to conduct research, and to analyze and interpret results of research.

·         Must be flexible and able to adapt in a fast-paced, always evolving environment.

·         Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams required.
