Your Team, Your Impact

The Connectivity Business Group develops products for leading-edge optical interfaces. The products designed by this group require state of

the art digital signal processing, FEC techniques and the highest speed analog, digital and optical components in the industry.

What You Can Expect

The candidate will work within the connectivity group and work on systems DSP architecture and development of the next generation of digital

communication chips. The candidate will work closely with various cross-functional teams including analog, digital, optical and firmware

engineers to architect the overall system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understanding digital signal processing and digital communications for optical interfaces
  • Modelling/simulation/analysis of systems including high speed analog components (ADC, DAC, drivers, TIA), opto-electronic components (optical modulators, photodiodes, lasers), fiber impairments (CD, PMD, non-linearities) and DSP algorithms (calibration of analog and optical nonidealities, equalizers, carrier frequency/phase recovery, timing recovery, FEC)
  • Provide system analysis and support to cross-functional teams to design and implement advanced communication blocks in CMOS chips
  • Provide system analysis and support to bring-up, validate and debug advanced communication chips
  • Design experiments to collect/analyze data to enable definition of next generation DSP

Minimum Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10-15 years of related professional experience. Or Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5-10 years of experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • A strong signal processing/digital communications background with an ability to analyze complex system level problems is required.
  • Strong programming skills in Matlab/Python/C/C , in a Unix type environment, with good problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with debugging complex analog issues to improve system performance is required.
  • Additional background in optical systems, optical components and silicon photonic integration knowledge is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of digital design of DSP blocks will be a huge plus.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

193,700 - 286,600, $ per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
