Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Planner to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials and components required for production. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, production, and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, minimize shortages, and support efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain material requirements plans (MRP) based on production schedules and forecasts
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of materials to meet production demands
- Coordinate with suppliers to track deliveries and resolve supply issues
- Analyze demand trends and adjust material plans accordingly
- Identify risks in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies
- Maintain accurate data in CMS
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, and quality assurance
- Generate reports on inventory performance, shortages, and material usage
Qualifications:
- Community College courses in Business/ Materials Management related discipline preferred
- 2 years of experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
- Knowledge of quality standards-IATF
