Martinez Steel is a rebar sub-contractor headquartered in Ontario CA specializing in fabrication, placement, and detailing. We are expanding our project management team and looking for talented, dynamic individuals interested in growing with us.

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing several projects, at multiple locations, in a geographic area. This position requires the ability to fully understand all aspects of the project contract and to proactively identify and solve or elevate potential contract issues related to cost, schedule, safety, and quality. This key operations role will work with all stakeholders to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and within budget while meeting the expectations of the client.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates an in depth understanding of structural plans, cost estimating practices, project development and implementation.
  • Directs the planning, coordinating and logistical activities required when a new project is starting.
  • Accountable for utilization of internal systems to ensure standardization of processes and procedures and for project reporting and documentation.
  • Regularly visits all job sites and meets with foreman about job progress, potential problems and identifies and partners with field leadership to correct quality or compliance related deficiencies. Follows up to ensure action has been taken.
  • Diligently manages project change orders.
  • Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Ensure team understands and delivers to the safety culture accountabilities and responsibilities.
  • Creates an accurate master construction schedule with the input of the Project Superintendent that reflects all tasks and milestones required to complete the project in conformance to the bid documents and contractual obligations.
  • Accountable for all aspects of financial management including budgets, cost to complete, billing and collections
  • Manages client expectations and communication based on contract specifications and the needs of Martinez Steel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 5-7 years in construction project management required.
  • Rebar industry experience, utilizing Soule Software, highly recommended.

Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts.
  • Ability to occasionally work in excess of 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule.
  • Occasional overnight travel within California may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Supplemental Pay:

Martinez Steel currently requires a mask to be worn, when indoors, for all unvaccinated team members and strongly recommends that all team members regardless of vaccine status do so as well.
